You guys remember when Mark Ruffalo said Banner would have a 3 movie arc starting with Ragnarok?
So I thought about it a little bit and here’s what I think will happen to Banner/Hulk in the future of the MCU
(Spoilers for Civil War 2 comic)
Banner learned how to control Hulk at the end of The Incredible Hulk, but Hulk is getting smarter. Banner has stayed as Hulk for 2 years straight after Age of Ultron, and as we saw in Ragnarok, Hulk has become way smarter and it’s getting harder and harder for Banner to control Hulk (the ”No Banner, NoooOOo” scene) and Banner has stated that he might not turn back into himself again if he turns into Hulk once more. But as we see in Ragnarok, he does turn back into Hulk and, as we saw in the Infinity War trailer, he does turn back into Banner.
Here’s where it gets into my speculation:
I think they will try their best to not get Banner to turn into Hulk in
infinity war but ultimately fail and Banner will not be able to turn into himself again…until the end of Avengers 4. They will finally turn Hulk back into banner and banner will decide not to turn into hulk again and go into isolation (i don’t think they will split the personalities) so banner will go into isolation and secretly do tests on himself without telling the other avengers.
then maybe they could go the Civil war 2 route where (spoilers)
Ulysses has a vision that Hulk will kill the Avengers and Banner asks for Hawkeye to kill him with a special arrow he designs if he ever shows symptoms of turning into Hulk. And Banner gets angry in an arguement but doesn’t turn into Hulk he just gets really angry and Hawkeye kills him and gets arrested by Captain Marvel and all the avengers blame themselves and think about whether banner was about to turn into the Hulk or not.
So that’s what I think about the Future of Bruce Banner in the MCU and I think it’s highly possible after the little story of Banner/Hulk different personalities in Ragnarok. So *what do you think will happen to Hulk going forward the Mcu? I would love to hear your thoughts*
