Can’t remember the last time an HBO drama had that low of a score on Metacritic.

Despite being incredibly unsubtle and basically pleading the audience to take it seriously because of how “diverse and relevant” it is, the last 10 minutes or so — the stuff focused on this potentially supernatural element to the show — was actually really interesting.

Also it’s fucking great to see Olivier from Six Feet Under again. That guy was a blast.

I’m 20 minutes in and had to post how bad the acting is. The scene with the photographers and the male model was cringe worthy. There’s some acting talent so hopefully it improves quick.

Edit: It didn’t get better. The writing was off. The 17 y/o daughter (played by Kevin Bacon/Kyra Sedwick’s daughter) is being played by a 25 y/o. None of the characters are likable yet.

This reminds me of that Showtime show about the roadies. It SHOULD be good but it tries too hard and is just not. I’ll give it one more episode but it doesn’t look promising. The only thing even getting me to give it another watch was how well the final scenes were handled.

I haven’t watched this but is this basically not just This is us?

This show is basically This is us x six feet under x John from Cincinnati.

I’m guessing it’ll end up about as good as the last one though.

In the last 10 minutes* “And just when I thought I was out…they pulled me back in.”

This doesnt look appealing. I’m looking forward to Succession though.

Very rocky start, but the end was good enough to make me want to see more. I loved six feet under and true blood, so I’m gonna give this a chance too.

    It’s so diverse and progressive!
