Every time I watch any historic fiction movie/series (e.g., Vikings, not documentaries), I wonder what would people from the depicted epoch say about its accuracy.
I believe that even if most of the things depicted were historically accurate, it would still feel extremely odd to them. (Watching a *movie* would obviously feel strange, but that’s not what I meant.) I mean those little details that are impossible to get completely right which would probably look absolutely bizarre.
Is there any ‘fake historical fiction’ movie which pretends that it was created in the (far) future and that it deals with 21st century and makes intentional small mistakes that make the film look bizarre?
I think those small mistakes that would make the movie feel weird are things like weirdly matched clothes, odd car/computer/dishwasher/… sounds, overly-explanatory dialogue (“You know, Washington, first president of country we live in – United States…”), wrong use of everyday items, people talking too much about things, that could seem (to future humans) like a big deal but are not actually discussed that often (LGBT, veganism etc.) and so on.
Is there anything like this? Would you, personally, be interested in seeing such movie or am I just really weird?
