This looks like a poster for Spy Kids 3D

This is the director’s 1st movie. A 150 million dollar movie is in the hands of a director who’s never made a movie before. It’s as if Universal Pictures enjoys burning money.

Not digging the way the jaegers move in the trailer. It just looks…way too fast and ninja-ish. Not quite sure how to explain it. The coolest part of the first one was just how massive and behemoth-like the jaegers were. Took like five seconds for a full punch

People dressed like robots standing in front of robots.

Pacific Rim made by Nickelodeon. That’s the vibe I get.

This has a not good Power Rangers feel about it :/

Legit question, why are Chinese and Japanese posters and trailers referred to as “international” when they are only for that specific region?

I mean, obviously I get that it’s an American film being released in a different part of the world, so technically it’s international, but it’s still kinda odd.

Those jaegers look far too sleek for their weight, but it is the future. Their suits, however, oh my.

this movie looks like complete shit. i expect it to make 5 gorillion dollars in china because it has robots in it that look like michael bay transformers.

I love the original film but this feels like a cheap Pacific Rim: The Next Generation.

The Jaeger’s move too fast and everything is so bright and colorful compared to the original.

And I know it probably won’t be in the final film but i hate the song used in the trailers as well.

But after all that, I’ll still give it a watch as i love the original.

Ever since I heard the Suicide Squad episode of We Hate Movies, I can’t see Scott Eastwood without picturing him as a car.

Reminder that it’s John Boyega’s fault that the Jaegers aren’t moving like they did in the first one.
They completely missed the point of having huge machines moving at a slow pace.

    >“They were like, “What did you feel about the first film,” and I told them straight up the stuff that I didn’t like and the stuff I wanted to see more of,” says Bodega. “I wish the robots would hurry up, just hurry up.”

    >He added, “We’ve got better upgrades. The robots are moving much more swift. Yeah, we’re like ballerinas up in there, it’s fantastic.”

    This looks awful

  14. F54280 February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

    This is impressively ugly.

The one on the left has a Bugatti Veyron as it’s chest. Are we some kind of transformer?

  16. mattmurdock11 February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

This reminds me, when are we getting that Real Steel sequel?

  17. budna February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

honestly curious if OP gets paid to post on reddit about movies

  18. esivo February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

Is that HK-47 on the left?

  19. treoni February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

The first one felt great. The jaegers felt like gigantic sluggies hulks of steel. When they hit the kaiju’s you could feel the hurt that would bring. Especialy [the rocket elbow punch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbuLJBsC0U0).

This sequel however feels… gogo power ranger?

  20. uberduger February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

I’m really worried at how much this one feels like a reboot rather than a sequel. I don’t want it to be entirely unlinked from the first one other than the main character being the son of one of the leads and having the same geek scientist guy. I want it to feel like this film is a necessary extension of the story, and not just an attempt to print money.

Specific Rim Job: Uprising, could be a good name for a porno.

Now all we need is a story…

  22. Skithnix February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

    Pilot the mech, Shinji.

  23. PTMafia February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

Thats a solid straight to DVD poster.

  24. raknor88 February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

No. This means that it’s only one pilot per Jager. I like the old 2 pilot system. It was semi unique and a fresh take on the giant mech genre.

  25. BambinoTayoto February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

This looks like a Transformers movie compared to the first.

  26. WithFullForce February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

Awesome dumb movie or dumb awesome movie. Take your pick.

  27. dangil February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

they can’t order names to actors
    and actors to robots

  28. WhyWouldYouPoopThere February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

Still kind of weird that they slapped Pacific Rim on a Transformers movie.

  29. amorfatty February 12, 2018 / 3:59 pm

Not a fan of John Boyega’s Jaeger. It’s so vanilla. A universe of potential, and they opt for an oversized human silhouette with the ability to perform just like a human. Except at scale. Even the sword is vanilla. The fun of the movies is in exploring colourful and imaginative ideas.

They could have done absolutely anything. Give the robot a halberd, for goodness sake. A sword? Seriously? Hey, not racist, how about adding something with some real cultural significance? John is black, heyo, and we’re just now getting the green flag to really start exploring different cultures in top grossing mainstream films. John is the protagonist here, why the hell not? How about adding some Black British garage and grime flair?

Just look at Black Panther and how much praise that’s getting. I’m a 25 year old pasty white British male software engineer that has maybe once had a real conversation with anyone not also pasty white and British, and I absolutely fucking love seeing anything new explored on screen. I want to see so much more.

This feels like a huge missed opportunity.
