I find myself using the app less because I can’t find shit, so I close it.

I wouldn’t go as far as to revolt but I’m not a fan of the design

I really like stories and chats in one screen because it eliminates a swipe. I wish Snapchat would get some UX help though. There needs to be a clear visual separation of Stories and Chats, even within the same tab. Also the algo sorting bites. Get rid of this ridiculous algorithm Snapchat and just give us simple chronological. I’ll stick with SC because Instagram is just Facebook (place for olds now per recent data). I won’t support Instagram’s blatant rip-off attitude.

    >“If I didn’t have 34 snap streaks with multiple being over 100 days, I’d delete Snapchat because yo, the new update is trash,” one college student tweeted.

    >Kids go to insane lengths to maintain their streaks, waking up early to send them and giving friends access to their snap accounts to maintain streaks when their phones get taken away. Losing a particularly long streak can be devastating.

As a 32 year old, this just sounds stupid.

Because it is shit. Forces you to view ads.

This app, to me, is dead. Hard users of Snapchat migrated to Instagram, or still using Snap but in a low frequency comparing with 2-3 years before

  7. nomikojoe February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

yeah yeah, same thing happened with FB years ago. They always come back

SNAP is shit. Their two products? Snapchat, a cobbled together, overhyped picture sharing app whose technology can easily be duplicated by any tech company. On the bright side, everyone is still using it.

What’s their second product? Snap spectacles. Fucking picture-taking glasses. No wonder their stock has been trash ever since their IPO.

the previous ui would be an update to the current ui, it’s garbage

I bailed on Snapchat around 2.5 years ago after they started going crazy with filters and the app would sit for 5 seconds on a load screen every time I wanted to use it.

Now there’s a clickbait title if ever I’ve seen one.

I like it better, now there is no reason for me to go to the paid content/discover tab, which I never liked going to anyway to see friends stories. I just use the friend side on the left and can see snaps and their stories.

    “revolt” yeah okay

  14. TeslaMust February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

I stopped using that app since Instagram stories came out, way easier to find people, also you could take screenshots without looking like a creep because you stalk other people’s cats and holiday resorts.

I love that the primary outrage cited is the loss of streaks. Gosh, what a rough world we live in.

Snapchat has apparently never heard of User Acceptance Testing.

People are whiners, they’ll get used to it. Took like 5 minutes to figure out what changed. Honestly, people couldn’t figure out how to post stories? That part didn’t even change!

Snapchat was already the worst-designed UI in social media. This didn’t make it noticeably worse. They should just add a damn menu like every other app in the world instead of burying all the functionality behind hand movements you have to figure out by luck.

I mean, i didn’t like it at first ether and am still not a fan but that just because i don’t like my shit changed.

But it took me all of an hr to figure it out. Longer for stories because no one was posting new ones.

Nobody is revolting. My child spent about 3.2 seconds thinking about it, mentioned it to her grandma (who didn’t care) and then proceeded to send/receive 72 million snaps before lunch.

  20. hammajang310 February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

they sound like old people complaining

  21. JadElClemens February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

It’s not even that bad, Jesus. Honestly I prefer it now.

  22. BionicPotato February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

If you’re on Android, just find an old version of the app and downgrade.

  23. nonstickpotts February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

People complained everytime facebook changed their interface too.

  24. Porkinscrash February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

Oh no! Not the angry teens! Civilization will collapse!

  25. sudoGaron February 13, 2018 / 2:13 am

I’ve yet to meet anyone over 24 using Snapchat.
