Wow people here *really* hate the Sequel Trilogy.

Goddamn this negativity, I’m glad I’m not y’all.

this sub just doesn’t handle star wars news well.

New to the sub. is everyone here a terrible cynic? Exciting star wars news, i don’t think the new trilogy has been *that* soul crushingly bad, has it?

People ITT are elevating them on Ivory towers saying they’re fatigued with Star Wars.

I couldn’t care less. It’s Star Wars. I know I’m going to enjoy it. The more the better.

Cool. Now that Star Wars events are about as rare as Wrestlemanias, I find myself more excited about new Pop-Tart flavors.

So… is it going to end with another death star?

    > Solo: A Star Wars Story director Ron Howard also appeared in a video message containing “never-before-seen, behind-the-scenes footage”

How is he going to fix the cluster fuck of contrarianisms that was the last jedi?

I am excited. I am glad that Abrams came back. I look forward to Solo.

I love Star Wars and so far they have all been better than the prequels.

What fascinates me, I think people don’t actually like Star Wars. I think they like how it makes them feel. There are articles and chapters in books about how whiny Luke Skywalker is but people loved the Vader reveal. People hated the Ewoks (hell, people were still saying they ruined Star Wars even after jar jar http://filmthreat.com/uncategorized/50-reasons-why-return-of-the-jedi-sucks/) but people loved the redemption of Vader in the end.

My point is, not a lot of people like Star Wars. They like what the think Star Wars should be

Kinda disappointed that Rian Johnson isn’t directing this one too. Loved The Last Jedi.

I hate the fact that I feel completely apathetic to ‘Star Wars’ news.

  12. doinflipsandshit February 12, 2018 / 12:38 pm

I really hope somebody that gives a shit takes the time to review the script unlike with the previous one. It’ll be very interesting to see if they can fix the mess that was TLJ.

AHHH, I hate JJ Abram’s art style.
Out of all of the sins if the new films, from The New Republic being destroyed in the same scene it was introduced, with a universe breaking weapon, to Luke being a quitter, the thing that infuriates me most, is the utter lack of unoriginal in episode 7’s ship designs, and the painful lack of ambient lighting.

In EP 1-3, you could always see new awesome concepts, and see the evolution of designs. In EP 1-6, you could see almost everything, that k to great ambient lighting. In episode 7… You got none of this.
Everything was too dark, the concepts had barely evolved from episode 6, and for the love of the lord, nothing really looked like Star Wars material/lighting wise.

So that, mixed with the fact that he has proven to have no respect for what the heroes accomplished in episodes 4-6 with the destruction of the New Republic in such a disgraceful way, leaves me a little less than excited to see him doing anything with Star Wars.

People using this to talk about the Last Jedi ignoring that Disney basically has its own cartoon version Davos now and its gone global.

Next year, a bunch of billionaires and technocrats will start giving presentations like “Life is a Super Highway Going Global: Seeing Fiscal Policy of the EU through the Lens of Disney-Pixar’s hit animated feature Cars.”

This new trilogy makes the prequels look like instant classics, and it looks like that trend will continue with JJ coming back.

Ugh who cares. They are going to ride this thing until the wheels fall off.

I remember being genuinely excited for modern warfare 3. Star Wars fatigue will set in soon.

Yay! Jar Jar Abrams is gonna make another forgettable franchise Sci-Fi flick. Maybe we’ll get some gratuitous lens flare with our Mary Sues and Deus Exes.

  18. bogusnot February 12, 2018 / 12:38 pm

JJ Abrams was on the daily show and when asked about Star Wars/Star Trek he basically said, eh? They’re both about space. He is worse than Lucas.
