What are great scenes in otherwise forgettable movies?

I think Observe and Report is a pretty bad movie but this scene with Collette Wolfe is amazing. Her acting is heartbreaking.

The plane rescue sequence in Superman Returns is classic Superman with modern VFX. Too bad the rest of the movie didn’t work as well.

What are other examples of great scenes in not great movies?

Since I just rewatched it last night:

Superman’s eyeball tracking Flash was a standout scene in a pretty forgettable movie.

The opening scene of X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Logan and Victor fighting in different wars was pretty cool.

The scene in Big Hero 6 where Hiro tries to outright murder the bad guy. Very intense and well done scene.

The car chase in William Friedkin’s JADE (1995) is superb, and the rest of the movie is fucking terrible.

I guess this is more an actor than a scene but Alec Baldwin in Aloha. Everyone else in that movie does some of the worst acting of their careers but he’s great.

    FOUR BROTHERS

is pretty forgettable but it has a healer intense shootout sequence to round out its 2nd act.
